Spicy Chicken with South African Chakalaka

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Marinating time: 45 minutes

Cooking time: 25 minutes

Ingredients :

- 250g of chicken breast with skin

- 1 tbsp sweet soy sauce

- 1 tbsp oyster sauce

- 1 tablespoon of olive oil

- 1 pinch of salt and pepper

- Chakalaka, South African, from L'Épicurien

Instructions :

  1. Preheat the oven to 210°C.
  1. Prepare the marinade: In a bowl, mix the sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, olive oil, salt and pepper.
  1. Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the marinade and let them rest for about 45 minutes.
  1. Brown the chicken: In a pan, pour a little olive oil. Once heated, brown the chicken fillets over high heat for about 5 minutes on each side.
  1. Bake: Transfer the golden fillets to an ovenproof dish and bake for approximately 15 to 20 minutes (or longer, depending on the thickness of the fillets).
  1. Let it rest: When it comes out of the oven, cover the dish with aluminum foil and let it rest to keep the juices inside.
  1. Plate and serve: Plate your dish to your liking, then coat the chicken with L'Épicurien's South African Chakalaka sauce just before serving.
