Ingredients :
1 pot of Istanbul Mezze from L’Epicurien
2 eggs
4 pita breads
100g of white sauce (such as yogurt or tahini sauce)
1 sliced tomato
A few lettuce leaves
1 white onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
Olive oil
Salt and pepper
Instructions :
Preparing the eggs :
Heat a pan with a little olive oil.
Crack the eggs into the pan and cook until the whites are set and the yolks are still slightly runny, about 3 to 4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Remove the eggs from the pan and set them aside.
Preparing the pitas :
Lightly heat the pita breads in the oven or in a pan, just to make them soft and lightly golden.
Assembling the sandwich :
Open each pita bread and generously spread the inside with the Istanbul Mezzé.
Add a layer of lettuce, then a few slices of tomato and green pepper.
Place one egg per sandwich.
Add slices of white onion and top with the white sauce.
Close the pita breads and press lightly to pack the ingredients in well.
Tasting :
Serve immediately and enjoy this delicious sandwich with the flavors of Istanbul.
Chef's Tip : For an even more authentic taste, you can lightly grill the green pepper slices before adding them to the sandwich.
